28th March 2014- I sold a painting :) My first ever. Not the print, but the original. I'm so happy :D

Beginning to paint & learning techniques mostly for oil painting. Trying a variety of subject material (many from Scotland), and keeping notes as I go! I will also try to list my 'discoveries' as I go along: Tip #1: I am using greaseproof paper to cover my plastic palette before mixing paints, so that I can save my paint colours and mixes (sometimes with pen annotations to help me tie the colours with the painting). After drying, I save the papers inside plastic folders for later reference. Tip #2: I keep two wash-jars of white spirit; one to clean the darker colours from brushes, and another to clean the lighter colours off, or to g
